living with passion
A passionate creative, with a love for life, people and motorsport, following a career in the industry, before hanging up my crash helmet and picking up a camera! Born in Scotland, my family moved to Devon when I was a young child, where I spent a number of happy years living the country life, before we eventually relocated to London and developed a love for life in the City.
My interest in photography began as a teenager. My uncle was a Fleet Street photographer in London and on a number of occasions he took me along on his assignments. It gave me a fascinating insight into his career, where no day was ever the same and each day was an opportunity to meet a whole range of interesting characters, from celebrities to politicians, to everyday people with their own unique stories to tell.
The memories from those days finally inspired me to turn a hobby I loved, into a career I felt passionate about. Over the years I developed my photographic style and over time, became a recognised and well regarded, award winning, photographer in the industry as both a photographic judge and international speaker. I was also voted Top Ten Winter Wedding Photographer by Professional Photographer magazine.
My signature images have featured in a range of wedding publications and most recently my growing portfolio in pre-wedding photography (a growing trend from couples in Asia who travel to the UK to be photographed around historic landmarks) was picked up by national press and TV.
My career to date has led me to meet many wonderful people and taken me to some incredible places. I have photographed destination weddings in Australia, Italy, France, Portugal, Austria and Switzerland to name but a few.
My commercial work has included stills photography on a variety of TV assignments from ITN News to photographing Spencer Matthews from Made in Chelsea and rugby player Gavin Henson on The Batchelor!
A mother to three crazy little people, two boys and one girl, who are my reason for getting up in the morning (literally - they need feeding). My interest in photography started as a child when I used to sit with a shoe box of old black and white photographs at my grandmother's house and imagine the story behind each photo. I have always been creative, right from being a little girl and have fond memories of making snowmen with my Mum at Christmas, out of empty toilet rolls, gluing them in cotton wool and filling the middle with sweeties!
I have always loved to write too and when I was 16, I won a prestigious annual award at my school, for my talent in creative writing, art and drama. My name got engraved onto a big silver plate along with all my predecessors and I even got featured in our local newspaper! It was a proud moment and one that fuelled my passion for all things creative.
My passion for writing and photography, sits alongside my passion for fashion, so earlier this year I launched a fashion and lifestyle blog called Keeping it Fabulous to combine all three! While my blog is a much loved hobby, my work as a photographer and cinematographer is my primary focus.
With ten years experience as a photographer, my style, although evolved, has remained that of a story teller, creating natural and timeless imagery for my clients. I love nothing more than capturing the moments that give an insight into people's life journey. My work has appeared in numerous magazines and I have won multiple awards for my work in documentary wedding photography, portraiture and boudoir.
